Alrighty...so I've noticed the theories going round 'n round about what's underneath Double D's hat. (long hair, baldness, tumors...etc.etc...)My personal favorite one out of all them is the scar theory.

The scar does make sense. The surprise Ed and Eddy show when the hat accidentally comes off in "Stop, Look and Ed" and the quote "Does it hurt?" In "Big Picture Show" supports it. It, and the story that goes with it, are probably the reasons Edd is so nervous whenever it comes off or the topic comes up.

The fanfic is bad girls with big hearts. However it seems that the author took it off of fanfiction.net unfortunate too it was a really good one. It had explanations for double dee's hat, why the kanker sisters act the way they do, why eddy is the way he is and a whole lot of other things that weren't explained in the cartoon.

Awww so cute! A scar makes more sense and kind of brings a bit of tragedy to the character....i love tragic characters. Also it fits with what Ed says in the cartoon at one point; "Does it hurt Double D?" or "cool!" knowing Ed, he would find something like a scar cool XD

The scar theroy does make more sense. In fact someone actually wrote a fan fic that kinda explains who Double Dee got the scar.
