                                                            Chapter 3

            I knew I was getting slow, yet I was still fast enough to grab Nokia, shield her from the blast and fly her out of there. The blast didn’t go as far as the oasis that time, which was a good thing. In the air, we were floating a good distance away from the blast. I was holding Nokia with both hands, she was leaning into me.
We both looked down upon the sight in even more caution before.
            “You alright?” Nokia asked, looking up at me “The blast hit directly didn’t it.”
Although I didn’t want to admit it, the blast hit me full blow. “Ill be alright, I’ve had worse.” That was true, yet this time I was wholly unprepared. “What now?” I asked while looking at her.
            “We should see what it is. We have to know if it’s a major threat.” Nokia extended her angel wings to fly solo. I let go of her hesitantly but I didn’t move far away Cautiously, we moved down again. I motioned for Nokia to circle around to the other side so we could have a possible advantage. As we parted, I toned my senses for anything. When we both were on opposite ends of the crater, we descended in to the fog. As we got to were our vision was not blocked, we saw what became of the meteor. It was gone, just shards of it were left behind from the blast. Not taking any chances, I continued to move forward; Nokia doing the same. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary, just the meteor was gone. Suddenly, my senses were triggered again and I turned around in an instant. Nothing was there, so I started scouting the surroundings and moved to a more comfortable battle position; after about a minute I found nothing. Nokia had stopped where she was and also had a position suitable for a fight. "Something is definitely not right" I said to myself. Just then, I was pulled under the sand by my foot. I didn’t see what grabbed me, so I fought blindly for the surface to no avail. Thank heavens Nokia was there, she grabbed my arm and pulled me toward the surface.
            “Cerb you ok?” she said to me with intensity in her voice.
            “Yea.” I said weakly.
            “Come on, we've got to get out of here.” she stated, I nodded once in agreement. She put my arm over her shoulder and started helping me out of the crater. I was a little dizzy so I needed the support. Looking around, I was trying to find out what grabbed me. We just barely got to the edge when my dizziness started to wear off and I found what pulled me under the sand, and there was more than one. They were a pale gray color and walked on four legs; with long reptile like necks, a kind of mantis shaped head and their body looked like it was armored.
            Nokia and I got out of the crater as one of the things tried to jump us. As fast as I could, I drew the first weapon I touched and counter attacked. I grabbed the Lion Heart and aimed right at the creature jumping towards us; when I felt it connect I pulled the trigger on my blade and pulled back giving the slash more kick.
            “Get ready.” I said to Nokia, for more were on the way and we didn’t even know why they were here, Or what there purpose here was. Nokia and I prepared our self for battle against the unknown enemy.
