I like your take on our hanyou. His scowl has always made me fond of him.

Shouldn't he look a bit younger and more Japanese? But anyway good work.

Thank you
Should he look a bit younger?
perhaps..but sometimes a scowling face can appear older than the same face relaxed and happy. Relaxed and happy is not a look that comes easily to InuYasha...he's spent a long time surviving on his own, presenting as an intimidating face to the world as possible, so he has the hard edged scowl pretty much locked down.
Also who's to say at what point in time, in or beyond the original story, this InuYasha is looking out of. While he pretty much started out with the 'social graces' of a delinquent fifteen year old, since his emotional age lagged significantly behind his chronological one, by the end of the manga he had matured a great deal. Perhaps this face of InuYasha reflects this balancing of his age and emotions that was certainly retarded by spending fifty years sealed to the Tree of Ages.
Should he look more Japanese? perhaps...
But I have never envisioned him as looking entirely Japanese considering the fact that he is after all half Inu Youkai. Dogs tend to have round eyes and no epicanthinc folds. Even the eye shape of the Japanese Spitz breeds (ie the Akita, Shiba Inu, Ainu Inu ) while characteristically triangular, houses a round eye. So I have given his eyes a more open appearance given his canine heritage.
On a side note..if you have never heard of the Ainu people of Japan..give the name a google. Although DNA evidence does not support them as being Caucasian, they shared a great many physical similarities with Caucasians including the fact that they were hairier, fairer skinned, carried the trait for blue eyes and lacked the epicanthic folds of the Japanese.
They also predated the Japanese in Japan by thousands of years...Youkai are very old...perhaps they had more in common with the Ainu than one would suppose
Anyway those are some of my reasons for drawing this particular version of InuYasha.
Thank you for looking at him and remember..
To someone who is young he may indeed look old, but time has a way of changing your perspective...to one who is old, he looks very young
be blessed
