Beautiful piece!
Send a little bit of that snow my way, too. Where I live we might get a few flurries but it doesn't stick. It just melts when it hits the ground.

Those of us in Seattle have been snowed-in for for a couple of weeks, with some days when we could not get out at all.

This painting really conveys the energy of the storm, the wind eddies, snow, and bitter cold. It is enough to make one shiver. Those footprints won't be there for long.

This is what always makes our work so special, the infused energy, attitude, mood, or emotion in your work. I see a piece and I am always moved in some way.

This is gorgeous I love the colours.

I have plenty of snow to spare but you can't have it because it gives me precious 'snow days' where school gets cancelled.

The soft details in this are very pretty. I wish there was a place here that looked like that, hehe. Even though I hate bundling up for the cold. XD

You can have our snow! Being in Alaska... we get snow early, of course. >_<

and you can have the snow we have here, if you want.

you have snow already too, lucky! though you don't seem to fond of it hey, I used your rock brush for some of the foreground elements- works great for icy-ness too.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

nathie In reply to ceruleanvii [2008-12-01 12:20:32 +0000 UTC]

you can have all our snow and cold weather. in which part of the US you are living? i remember as i lived in LA it was hot hot and hot, it is the same longitude (or was it latitude) as italy.

the brushes are pretty versatile brushes. iยดd even brush our cat with it if the brush would be real.

I'm originally from the Northeast, which probably has a similar climate to where you are, snowy cool winters, tolerable summers.

But now I live in the Southeast, with little snow and long hot humid summers filled with all manner of huge disgusting insect life - can you tell I want to move?

nathie In reply to ceruleanvii [2008-12-01 17:17:11 +0000 UTC]

yes, a friend of mine comes from maine (omg that is amlost a rhyme) and she says if she comes to a visit to germany that they have actually the same weather.

hot and humid? EEW! if there is a definition of hell, it is hot and humid.
i hate the feeling if you want to wipe your sweat that you just sweat more.

WOOOOW such a stunning artwork
I love the motion you have done in this pic, the obvious speed of the wind whirling the snow *shiver* makes me literally feel the icy cold air and underlines the awe and seriousness of the moment shown here in this marvelous mountain scene !

SOOO AWESOME

Had no idea this was yours at first...I guess I'll have to start expecting good landscapes, as well as humanoids Don't bother finding any snow where I live, as I'm typing this, there's a classic summer afternoon shower going on lol...Oh the humidity that'll come afterwards

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

ceruleanvii In reply to Chromattix [2008-11-29 15:01:10 +0000 UTC]

Do you ever get snow? I grew up with it, but where I live now we only get a little - I'm always wishing for more.

I've been doing more landscapes/environments for this class I'm taking, and while I still prefer painting figures, this is also fun.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Chromattix In reply to ceruleanvii [2008-11-30 01:07:42 +0000 UTC]

If our Winters were, say - just 10 degrees colder (Celcius that is, so maybe around 30-ish or so in Farenheight) then we would get snow Though Sydney is usually a warm, sunny city when people think of it, it does get chilly during our relatively short Winters, sometimes at night, it even gets below freezing point...But still, the closest thing I've seen to snow is just the dew on the grass frozen over in the morning, that usually melts just a few hours after sunrise anyway

There's a mountain range that's a few hours drive West of here though, and that gets a lot of snow in Winter, if anyone visits Australia in Winter, don't dump your ski's just yet until you go there everywhere else...it just rains a lot
