When in doubt, poke it with a stick... if that fails use a bigger stick.

is there already a term for a taur with a different body type for the upper torso vs. the lower torso?
if not, I'd like to propose the word 'crosstaur'. asย in this example, Celia is a bun/spider crosstaur

I haven't heard of a broad-category term for general types of taurs, but there are some for specific combinations. Sadly, they tend to be invented terms rather than something found by academic efforts.

"Crosstaur" would need to be contrasted by a term for a taur with the same base type for vertical and horizontal (possibly a better way to refer to the sections than upper/lower). And as the classical forms have a human vertical, they might technically be crosstaurs but also might warrant their own categorical term. (Mythology also recognizes centaurs with bovine and donkey horizontals.)

"What rolls down stairs
alone or in pairs,
and over your neighbor's dog?
What's great for a snack,
And fits on your back?
It's log, log, log

It's log, it's log,
It's big, it's heavy, it's wood.
It's log, it's log, it's better than bad, it's good."

Mind, I've seen it used in Lamu (Urusei Yatsura) too... And that's from the eighties.
