I have no idea. I believe it's just the angle that this photo was taken in and that She was going fast, which makes the skin ripple. This photo was also taken on October 28th, so what you're talking about could be something totally different.

Oops never mind. I looked back at the injury one orca had on google. It was at San Diego. ^^ It happened in September 11th 2012 one of the male orcas there.
Amazing picture of her though, I wish I could have gotten awesome shots from the Underwater viewing when I was there last.
