Love the sense of isolation amidst a desolate landscape. The fragile tenure man holds is represented by the rickety jetty/platform the central figure crouches upon. Brilliant.

I like the melancholic feeling this picture gives me. The space is greatly done: the water seems to be infinitly deep and vast, though judging by mere common sense the bottom shouldn't be that far. The ocean is almost still, untill you look under the surface, just like the figure on the pier. He looks calm, but not peaceful. I imagine he's got so many thoughts that would not simply go away, even if you try to force them. Not distinct clear thoughts, but a stream of consciousness flooding everything around you.
