Description A little girl, perchance alone,
Sat in a porch outside her home.
A star did wink before her eyes:
She always waited for its rise.

Pale blonde of hair, and green of eye,
This little girl named Fallem cries;
Her father gone, her mother dead,
Her brother had a heart of lead.

She always sang alone at night,
It for a while made her world bright.
A world that yet no music knew
Could not perceive her singing true.

At every eve, she sat upon
Her solitary, wooden throne
And to the fireflies in the lawn
She sang until the light of dawn.

"What noise is this!" her brother cried
On hearing this odd lullaby.
"Inside!" warned he, with shake of head:
"Shut up at once and go to bed!"

With stinging welts still red from late,
She learned to never tempt her fate.
Her brother's word was law, and yet
Her little mind felt injustice's threat.

To bed! At once! With moonshine still!
How choked she felt! How darkness filled
The gaping void where raging storms
Began to take an early form,

For Fallem was unlike her peers
Who preyed on others, always jeered;
For they were each the "chosen pure",
For they were "Ether" mages sure!

And only Fallem wielded light,
A feeble flame, too weak to fight.
Her palms could bear the scorching heat,
But not the silence as she weeps:

For song, for friends, for father dear;
For kindness, faith, to be sincere;
To never fear the endless gloom;
For joy to stray into her room.

I always will have respect for those who can write fix form poetry, you all have a way with rhythm that I can never quite reach
