Seems like the sort of thing Kinnikuman would do. Probably before the Devil Choujins got completely outlandish. Or maybe not, considering Andre was even more legendary in Japan.

I'm a casual Kinnikuman fan (I used to collect the old M.U.S.C.L.E. toys and watched Ultimate Muscle), but your post got me curious, so I did a little web search.  Apparently, they did do an homage to Andre called "Apollo the Giant".  I can't find any manga/anime pix of him, but I found a write up of him on the Kinnikuman wiki (he was a boxer and his name is a combination of Andre and Apollo Creed).  I also found some pictures of his toy  He looks like the Michelin Man with Andre's hair (and a beard) and wearing boxing gloves.

Says he's part of the Monster Extermination arc, when Kinnikuman was more a parody of Ultraman than a wrestling story. Of course, once they got to that kind of story, we got to see lots of cameos from America's greatest wrestlers of the early 80's; pre-Hogan guys, like Dusty Rhodes, Peter Maivia, the original Sheik, and Ricky Steamboat. Most of them were just opponents for Kinnikuman and Terryman to beat.

Since apparently Andre was extremely popular in Japan, I'm picturing an appearance by him in Kinnikuman being pretty similar to here, being incredibly huge and incredibly powerful.
