Its a WIP, I really want to color like this, but better. This was made after the coloring style of [link] 's beastboy, which she/he did VERY WELL with. The lineart looks like crap (practice), and theres more coloring, shading, highlights and reflective lighting to do.O, as for the expression, I did not want to stray from Beastboy's personality, so I made him a bit charming ^^, all the while keep that same comedicness and craziness with his head features. All the while doing it in anime form...hey, no limits to style
For some reason, I'm thinking of nightcrawler. tips? Crits?

Teen Titans may have used aspects originally from Japan's anime style (sweatdrops, super-deformed characters, chibis, etc.), but they also--as per some episodes, especially the comedic ones--use some of the classic WB! fare (zany sound effects, bulging eyes, "splat" sounds whenver they hit something, etc.). Therefore, it is American made, but with a touch of the anime style that's swept American since the late 90's.

Bah. I love this picture soooo frickin' much. I love the way you did the yellow-ish tinge on his face. just by the way the lighting is, I could tell you wanted him on top of a building (obviously, he's in the city) He actually looks like he's going to start a mission, quite frankly. Like, he's about to go into action. Also, I absolutely ADORE the way that you did the eyes. Can you tell me how you got them so... entrancing and... for lack of a better word, SHINY. Already faved it. Still love it.

Those eyes... They're so hypnotic and expressive. The shading on the head and the way you drew it was amazing, my only problem had to be the uniform, it just was too... blurry and undefined. And yeah, he does look kinda Nightcrawler-esque.

I just check through your TT potraits and you can clearly see you getting better.
One thing that I have seen comeing is better contrast. Comparing to the others this one seems a little..flat..more contrast between light and shadow would definetly lift this picture.
I have never used pain though, so I don't know how hard that program is to master but you're getting great at it!

lol He does look like Nighcrawler. Um, let's see...the drawing itself captures Beastboy's essence pretty well. Suave and silly. However, you need to take lighting into account. The light seems to be coming from below and it's giving the piece an unsettling, almost sinister undertone. I'm sure it's too late to fix that now, but hey, you seem to like crits so I'm gonna give 'em dammit!

Personally i think DC comics Teentitans has more to do with warner bros animation rather than japanese animation. If they were gonna make it cartoony why not stick with their style rather than sellout to the anime craze?
And of course before you know it, the common fandom decides they should bastardize everything else with anime (eg powerpuff girl manga), and as for teen titans, one thing leads to another and boom! Teentitan hentai! Robin and co have to deal with fanboy's dodgy sexual fantasies. Okay then...
Not everyone's like that i don't think, but it's sadly the case from what i've observed.

I wouldnt say they "sold out" to the anime craze, rather than just applying it to their own. If teen titans was drawn with original american animation, it wouldnt appeal to todays audience as much (I mean, look at Static Shock 
Oh god, dont even start with the fandom. Blah, shit. They could do whatever they want, but they have no impact on the show and never will (and besides, the creators of TT are the ppl behind Batman, they know what theyre doing). I'd say, just disregard the Fandom ENTIRELY, and watch the show for what it is. Beneath the titan fan-love stuff, is a show with dynamic characters, a GREAT story (filled with age-old archetypes), and hilarious situations.
