As the only daughter in a household full of boys, she was treated like a princess. Pretty dresses, beautiful jewellery and adorable dolls to play with. That was Leontine's life.
Fortunately, she loved all those things. Her favourite possession was a music box she got from her grandmother. It was a very pretty one.
The best thing about that box was the thing inside it, though. Because if you opened it, a Ballerina would start turning on her little platform, dancing to the pretty tunes the box was playing.
Léontine wanted to be like that. She wanted to be a Ballerina when she grew up.
She started taking ballet classes at the age of 5. Her parents fully supporting her on her new hobby.
She turned out to be pretty good at it. Good enough to get a recommended to a prestigious all girls school, focusing on concert dance like acrobatic dance and Ballet.
And that's when she was sure that one day she will be standing on a stage with a pretty white dress, representing Little Mascha from Tschaikowsky's ballet "The Nutcracker".
She was going to be like the pretty porcelain ballerina in her music box.

Her new school turned out to be very exhausting, but after a few months, she was used to all the dancing.
People in her class somehow never got her name right, though. Not even the teachers. They always pronounced it wrong or made something else out of it.
She was sick of them never getting her name right. That's why she started to call herself "Grape". Léontine figured that this would be easier than her real name.
It kind of stuck over the years. She was known as "Grape" now. Nobody, except for some close friends and teachers, knew her real name. But they were never curious enough to ask her about it.

After finishing 9th grade however, her family decided to move and Léontine couldn't attend the school anymore since her parents refused to pay for the boarding school fee. It was time to change to a public school. (She still took Ballet classes outside of school though)
Public school was... something. Those were definitely the years Grape regretted the most. Let's just say that her high school-self was very playful and didn't know what personal space was. Funny Enough, one of her schoolmates was Eli . Grape, as inexperienced with Boys as she was back then, was crushing on him and would make it very obvious.
They eventually dated for quite some time and Grape couldn't be happier.
After Eli finished his senior year they broke up since their colleges were too far away from each other.

Grape, of course, went to a College for Dance Performance, majoring in Ballet.
She got pregnant in her first year of school. And didn't find out until summer break. She wanted to have the child, her boyfriend at that time didn't.
It all ended in a big fight. They both split up, leaving Léontine alone, not knowing what to do. She planned on getting known in the industry.
Making ballet not only her hobby- but also her life. But she couldn't do that now, she didn't even have a degree in Ballet yet.
She took a break for a few years, raising a child with the help of her family. As soon as her son was old enough to go to the kindergarten, she started doing ballet again.
Since her dad had a few contacts here and there, she could eventually get a job at a theatre. Her Ballet skills were great, but it wasn't enough to get a solo part in the ballet ensemble. Grape was OK with that and she keeps practising her skills weekly in her Ballet class. She was sure that she would get to play the starring role one day.
