Description Reconstruction of the famous "Huldremose-Peplos" a danish bog find that is dated to 220 BC.
Made in the context of my B.A. examination and will be presented at "Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften 2012" (science night) in Berlin, Institute for Prehistoric Archaeology.

This is really cool ^_^ Hey, I've got an assignment in a class that asks me to represent Roman clothing, and I can't draw very well (working on it) let alone replicate the clothes this accurately. Would you mind terribly if I used this image in my poster? I'm sorry for asking, but it's kind of necessary.

Your replique is so lovely !!! I really love how the fabric is draped.
I made a saxon peplos, but it's not beautiful as yours. Can I ask you how long was your rectangle at the beginning ?

I took the original measurements of the Huldremose peplos - at least almost: 260 cm perimeter, 168 height.

Ich hab mittelschweres Leinen genommen. Eigentlich ist das nicht unbedingt der geeignetste Stoff, wie ich feststellen musste. Das Drapieren ist sehr aufwändig. Mit etwas dünnerem Wollstoff (wie im Original) wäre es sicherlich einfacher. Aber schön, dass es aussieht, als würde es schön fallen. Darauf kommt es zumindest nächste Woche erstmal drauf an

Ah, danke! Ich möchte mir auch einen machen, aber wie du sagst, war noch kein geeigneter Stoff beim Leinen dabei. Dann werde ich mich mal nach mittelschwer oder Wolle umsehen!
