You know sometimes I wonder, during that time when Disney kept making sequels to their animated movies during the late 90's and early 2000's, why didn't they make a sequel toThe Sword in the Stone?

I mean, they kept making sequels to stories which had a definite ending and should have left them that way, yet with this movie ended when Arthur becomes king. I'm pretty sure that their was more to the Arthur legend than that, and defiantly a lot that Disney could have worked with which could have possibly made an interesting story; but what did we get:

> Lady and the Tramp's son running away and learning the importance of rules and family
> Wendy's daughter learning to become a child again
> Ariel's daughter essentially making the same mistake as her mother but in reverse (starting as human to becoming a mermaid)
> Timon and Pumbaa's side of the Lion King story

And quite a few more. Now I'm not saying that all the sequels that they made were bad, The Rescuers Down Under was a pretty good movie, even better than the original and I think that maybe with the right people, the same could have happened with this movie.

Oliver and Company is my go to underrated Disney flick for a lot of things, including the villain, who is crime lord that would personally harass bums from his limo.

Because that's where the big money is at.

I have to agree with you on that. Sykes was an interesting villain.

torquesmacky In reply to ChadRocco [2015-03-27 00:09:17 +0000 UTC]

I sensed it was more like Fagin came to him for a loan, not knowing what he was getting into. We saw plenty examples in 90 minutes how Fagin often got himself into things out of desperation.

You know something else about Oliver and Company? Everybody smokes. There'll never be that much smoking in a Disney film again.

Not even that rare anti-smoking PSA Disney did back in the 80's as well?

GHENGIZZ In reply to ChadRocco [2015-03-26 20:13:14 +0000 UTC]

Oliver & Company huh? That's pretty interesting. For me, the ultimate underrated Disney flick would be a three way toss up between Robin Hood, Treasure Planet & Hercules.
