This may sound like a dumb question... but how do you figure out where to put the shading? It's something I'm really struggling with at the moment. Is it just a matter of experience?

It may be a matter of experience, in terms of having done a lot of trial and error to figure out what works and what doesn't, but it's a constantly evolving process. Do a lot of life drawing where you're looking specifically for lighting in different situations and locations, and where shadows fall on real people. For me, the idea is to see what the lighting does, in general, and where shadows fall, in any given situation when observing real figures and people.. As long as I get something that's close to what really happens, I call it a win. Hope this helps.

Me gusta, but I have to say that she looks a lot like Elsa Bloodstone.
