You can model you're own, it's not that hard actually:

Legs, Arms: Plain lathe objects (a spline + lathe modifier)
Feet: Lathe object (but just 180ΒΊ instead of 360)
Joints: Two hemispheres each with a cylinder in the middle (or a single sphere if you're lazy).
Head: Lathe object, with a little FFD(cyl) modifier to pull out the "nose".
Lower body: Yet another Lathe object, but using a boolean (intersection) with a (tapered) box to cut of the front and back.
Torso: The only really "modelled" piece. I think i did a lathe object and then kept on modifying it with FFD modifiers or just editing the mesh (+meshsmooth).

Rigging: For just posing it, just link the parts together.
For animation you'd probably want a more complex rig though (bones and IK solvers and whatnot, but that's a bit too complicated).

This is seriously... I don't know the word. It's brilliant. It's like the anatomy of what happened, and there's so much emotion through body language, regardless of what types of bodies they are. I love it.

Heh, really though, the emotion in this piece is very very well composed, espescially after reading your description.

chain In reply to Abdullrhman-Hassona [2006-04-25 19:38:55 +0000 UTC]

I think my lathe-tutorial is still lying around in my gallery... The dolls are very simple objects, each body part is a lathe object (spline + lathe-modifier), the joints are spheres (with a slit in them). The chest i don't remember, but it's probably modelled from a cylinder with some meshsmooth on it. The lower body is another lathe object where i've used a box to carve away the front and back (boolean object). Basicly you can do most of the doll very quickly with lathe objects.
I recomend moving the pivot points of the limbs to their real-life pivot points (the joints), and link them (FK). Then it will be easy to pose the doll.
(For animation you should make a IK rig of some sort but that's harder).

Hope this info helps...
