Looking on at a dire scene alongside both of whom whose tails and manes are about to be windswept by a certain somepony to the rescue.The right eye, goggles and head altogether were quite the doozy and took about half of all the time spent making this.

It's an interesting phenomenon that frankly I'm guilty of myself; throwback to 2013 when I started posting a lot of uniform-free Soarins (and a bit before that when other people did the same thing). Bonus when their "naked" self is brighter than the uniform they wear, which'd apply to both Spitfire and Soarin I suppose.
This is only augmented further by how, using my own deviations as a metric (and at least one or two more from a couple other artists), the "naked" versions generally have more views and favorites than their "suited/uniformed/clothed" counterparts.
