Yes, good wins! GOOD WINS!!!!! Anyway, what did you expect from a space opera? An unhappy ending.
Now, I know that some may be unhappy with how this turned out. All I can say is, SHAME ON YOU!!!

Hmmm...after rereading this, I realized that they still have the conversion ray. So even when they fled out to "uncharted space", I'm sure they ran into various smugglers, pirates, and the occasional Galactic criminal...many of whom probably acquired some unique discoveries or technology of alien origin....and all assimilated/converted....
Hmmmm...the possibilities.
