My mom hates Captain America (I don't have a clue why) but says this is one of her favorite pics. I did get an awful lot of buckles and stuff in there, didn't I?  Glad it caught your eye!

Thank you! I love the look they have given him in the films, and this one is heavily influenced by that.

question, do you layer with your tools?
i.e. -ballpoint-sketch, shades(darkest), final lines
      -watercolor-coloring, shades(lighter)

I usually start with a light pencil sketch, then I do a simple ballpoint pen line drawing over the pencil. After erasing the pencil I will fill in some detail with pen. Then I use Burnt Umber watercolor pencil to fill in the dark areas, and after that add any color I want. I finish off by doing heavy shading in ballpoint pen, and viola!
