Description I saw the Lion King remake yesterday and i can't understand why the critics were raving on about it been a disappointment. For any lion king fan, it will serve as memories reborn. The critics said that it's portrayed more like a nature documentary than a Disney movie because the characters lack facial emotion and the heart like in the 1994 animated film, the reason for that is because Jon Favreau aimed to achieve photorealisim and he certainly achieved that, because animals in real life don't smile and cry like we humans do. some scenes are the same as the 1994 version and the critics complained it was mimicry, but to any fan it will serve as an explosive emotional rollercoaster of memories as it did for me. For any fan out there will see that the lion king 2019 still has its heart and soul and will see past the animals lack of emotion thanks to the photorealisim, and if animals could talk that's how it would probably be.
Of course it doesn't beat the original masterpiece but it still delivers a pleasant and nostalgia experience that fans will enjoy!

Thank you. Animals are not supposed to emote the way humans do, otherwise you get Andy Serkis’s Mowgli in which the animals emote like humans and it looks weird. I still like that movie however.

Exactly my point, animals don't express facial emotions like we do especially cats, its quite difficult to read them, that been said, watching the movie and thinking of how realistic it is, it's a splendid experience.
