That would be nearly impossible for my manual lens. You must have done quit a bit of work on keeping your sky the correct color, it shows.

If your that good at the motion shots your should try and do more of it. The ocean birds like to visit the fresh water ponds for a late morning bath and preening. It does get boring, so I try to position myself low, near the water, so I might get the reflection of the bird as part of the photo.

Thanks. I do remember fine tuning some of my shots manually because the auto focus couldn't keep up but to do it from scratch seems impossible. I was lucky because it was still early morning when this was taken so the sky wasn't too bright and the bird was enjoying cooler weather still so he was more relaxed and not in too much of a hurry.

My pond has been pretty boring too and I'm sure my neighbors must think I'm crazy but to get really low and a unique angle I've actually been hanging over the edge of the bank. The water level has been really low until a few days ago and I've been getting close enough that my elbows are getting wet but the gear has been staying dry with the exception of a few splashes from a duck shaking water off.

A duck got your confucious wet? I assume you decided to make an example of him to the others and let loose with a barrage of fullautomatic fire.

With my 50D I was able to do rapid fire!

I love how tack sharp this image is, great capture and focus! Owls are the most beautiful birds, in my opinion.

Thanks so much! I was mesmerized by them and I just couldn't stop looking at the intricacies of the feathers but hadn't thought to bring a lens that would capture that aspect. Since these birds are used for education purposes you could get within a foot or less of most of them.
