Description
These are the books I made for my Hermione cosplay at the Sydney Harry Potter Shoot, 17/07/2011.They are, in actuality, boxes, that I used in place of a handbag on the day - far more in character.

It was at USyd on the 17th. I only found out through USyd's CosSoc though, it wasn't really a public event. But it was awesome.

For Beedle the Bard I took a screenshot from the movie then photoshopped it to make it 2D and the right size for my book. Then I printed it and traced the design onto some homespun, added the gold embellished border, glued it to the book and attacked the whole thing with sandpaper! oh and I cut the spine and glued a strip of cardboard into it to make it look like the book was falling apart.
For Hogwarts a History I found an old book cover design that I liked and used photoshop to put the crest and title onto the cover. Then printed, traced onto homespun, glued and tea-stained! I used a felt tip pen though, and that doesn't react well to water - I had to be really careful around the design.
But they were a lot of fun and definitely worth it!

haha thanks! they were fun to make as well - though my arm got quite sore carrying them, I don't know how Hermione manages it!
