Quick Rail Tales history lesson: the Sodor Steamworks in the CGI series was opened in 2000, and Truman was privately bought by the original Crovan's gate Workshop when it was established in 1915 (trust me, it all works out)

we then flashback to 2006 where Sir Topham Hatt III was talking to a recently restored 87546 that he was restored because the mayor of Sodor wanted a private engine and if he behaved well, he would get a name, then Truman comes in pushing a very angry Gordon. He's angry because Dennis had left a goods train with a leaky oil tanker at Crovan's Gate instead of taking it to the transfer yards and Gordon ran into it full speed, 87546 then offers to fill in for Gordon while he's getting repairs, and Gordon genuinely thinks he couldn't handle the Wild Nor' Wester because of how heavy it's gotten since the early days of the NWR, but STH III allows it as there's really no other option.
