I was thinking it'd make for a good steampunk version of TDKR Bane. Good to see I wasn't alone in that line of thought, lol.

We don't speak of the Bane-thing in Batman and Robin. He...he just...he makes me sad.

It was just so terrible! Yeah, they got the size right, but they made him into a complete simpleton, which is NOTHING like the comic book Bane.

So, wait, which Bane are we talking about here? The one from 'Batman And Robin'? Or the one from 'The Dark Knight Rises'?

The one from Batman and Robin. He was just utter and complete crap! The new one, while the size wasn't QUITE right, I'd rather it be that way and still have him be a genius than the other way around. That, and in TDKR, the batsuit didn't have nipples.

True
But you could call me a 'Dark Knight Rises' hater. It just didn't really do anything for me. It was just a huge let-down more than anything else.

It was essentially Christopher Nolan saying, "You see this? Yeah, I'm not making any more of these, even though there's a ridiculous number of Batman villains left to use." I enjoyed it, but There are parts that could've been better.

True. Lots of problems that I could see, especially that bit with 'Robin'. In the style of you:
It's like Nolan just saying 'Hey! That guy there? You see him? Yeah? That guy we built up through out the entire film? Yeah? Yeah? Yeah? Yeah, he's just called Robin and that's it.'
If he called him Dick Grayson I would enjoy the film like I enjoyed 'Batman Begins' - it has it's problems, but I can grit my teeth and suffer through it enough to enjoy it.
BUT NO.
Nolan is always going to try and appeal to movie-goers, rather than comic-book fans.

I mean, his name didn't match ANY of the Robins! He could've made him Jason Todd, which could've led to a Red Hood movie, but NOOOOO, we can't do that! He's kind of a dick, come to think of it.

Exactly! It was just Nolan being so full of himself, he was so certain that everyone would just praise his movie like they did 'Inception' or 'The Dark Knight', simply because he's Nolan, and anything he touches just magics into a fucking blockbuster hit
