Wow... I actually made it to the very last extended deadline of the ~ Go-Titans-East contest (at least, in DA time).I admit, I'm not that happy with the way this turned out - it wasn't what I expected. The biggest mistake I think I probably did was to try and color it using the smudge tool in Photoshop instead of Painter (for some reason, I found smudging a lot easier with the latter program). I'm starting to think that I should have done cell-shading instead.
Oh, btw. I drew this before Overdrive was shown, so it's not based on Robin and Cyborg's basketball game.

I was going through some old fav teen titans art just to look at it again and I have to say this is always been one of my most favorite pieces. I know it has been a long time sense Teen Titans end, but I think it will always still feel current and still the best thing cartoon network ever head on.

Wow. Amazing. I can vividly feel the thrill of the game--the Robin vs. Speedy rivalry is my favorite. And, once again, Robin shows off his superior skills, giving no less than his all. (Refering to Winner Take All when Robin beats everyone except Cyborg, who we know Robin can beat anyway from the episode Masks. Do I sound like a geek when I talk like that? I'd like to say not, but I'm not really sure.) I think it makes sense that Speedy would take off his shirt and not Robin; it fits their personalities better. I love Robin's pose and expression too; you can tell he's giving it his all, he's feeling the burn and loving it, and he's confident that he can beat Speedy--his invinsible and he knows it. But Speedy's not one to be a sore looser. His face just shouts "I'll get you next time!"
Cyborg's grinning like mad at his teammate, knowing he's got the game in the bag; but Aqualad's ready for some new competition, ready to double-team with Speedy against Mr. Invinsible.
Is Raven's eyebrow raised? 'Cause her face looks like a cross between thinking the game is pointless, and admiring Robin's moves. Beast Boy, Mas, and Menos look like your average support team, shouting encouragment to their team, but Bumblebee...she looks like a cross between shouting encouragment, and throwing criticism/threats: "Speedy! Get your head in the game! What are you doing out there?! Stop trying to have a staring contest with Robin and steel the ball! Move faster! Don't make me get out my zappers!" Starfire is probably just being Starfire: Cheering for Robin and Cyborg, but hoping on the inside that Speedy and Aqualad do just as well, and that nobody is a sore loser when the game is done.
I think the sunlight effect on Speedy and Robin really adds more depth to the scene; and if no one agrees with me on that, it's still really cool anyway. The shading is awesome, I don't know what your talking about! Personally, I'm not a big fan of cell shading, so that's probably why. I never use it because I think the way I shade is easier, but that's probably because when I tried it, I did it the hard way. 'Cause I have a habit of doing that. I love those clouds too. How'd you do those? They look awesome.
Now the fence. It's fine and dandy for a simple background like this, with awesome clouds like those, and it looks a lot better than some I've seen because the spacing is uneven (for some reason, I think uneven spacing looks better than exact spacing, but that's just me) but there's something about it that just doesn't look right. I can't really think of what it is, though. But I have to say, when I do a background where there's something that's repetitive like that, I do it by hand. I know that's the opposite of what other people do, but I'm weird like that. There was this one drawing, where the character was on a hill covered in grass, and I drew every single blade. I'm pretty sure the people who saw it were more impressed with the grass than the character, but whatever. I guess I just have a lot of patience.
Now, what is it exactly they're playing on? It doesn't look like blacktop, or anything else I can think of off the top of my head, but it still works with the rest of the piece.

Even if youΒ΄re not so happy about the coloring i think is the most professional looking pic of the teen titans in all the world wide web!! All the characters look perfect, bodies, faces, clothes everything about it is great. Besides is a lot more complex than most of fanarts are.

Aww. . .really cute picture! Love the perspective, and, (being a Robby fan), I love that Robin gets a big chunk of the picture devoted to him. It's right an proper that his current challenge is Speedy. That seems appropriate.
