The Lithonium Wars were an ongoing conflict spurred on by the discovery and use of the magical ore known as "Lithonium". The powdered version was originally used for crops, but demand for the resource soared and mining began on an endless scale. Some began to ingest the rare powder, hoping to gain its magical qualities. But only those with sensitivity to magic were changed - and from that the first Mages were born.

From their new strength grew a desire for power. The Mages, unchallenged, seized the Lithonium mines and surrounded them with fortresses and armies to protect them. And out of this greed grew jealousy, corruption, and war. The call to arms lead to the creation of armor, weapons and rings imbued by the power of Lithonium. Those who were not sensitive to magic could then wield the same power the Mages greedily stole for themselves...
