You gotta try it! It may be a bit uncomfortable at first but please give it a day at least, bit of a change is good for you

Some quick mentions...
- It was originally inspired by "The Sentinel" Windows Media Player skin by the The Skins Factory, I trust you all know where that is.
- Big thanks to all those Neowin(.net)ians, HardwareGeeks(.com) and others who've helped and encouraged me!!!
- The wallpaper was HEAVILY inspired by that wicked sphere at [link] and by Hugo Boss (InMotion cologne) (not that I use it



Some Facts:

- I think I've spent the longest time ever on this one!
- Sorry vertical taskbar users, it didn't make it to beta-1. Next release, promise!
- There are 14 color schemes most of them are based on a light color but a few, namely 'Black2', 'Deviant' and 'Graphite' are dark, greta at night but I don't recommend using them for too long...it'll affect your mood !
- Some of the color schemes from the MMD3 Winamp3 skin match some of these color schemes really well
- The visual style is just about complete, still need to do vertical taskbar, logonUI cursors, shell32 animations and icons
- All the images have been optimized so don't worry about performance


Installation:

I had to split the .msstyle into two cos my StyleBuilder compiles a max of 10 color schemes per .msstyle file.
You need to first install the 'Bank Gothic Medium BT' font (included)

There are two ways to run it,

1 - You can extract everything to a folder and go double-clicking all the .msstyle files and manually change color schemes and matching wallpapers or you can

2 - Extract all the .theme files and 'Sentinel_A' and 'Sentinel_B' folders to your %WINDIR%\Resources\themes\ folder and select the color schemes from Display Properties, this way is quicker but it takes up a lot of space on your themes list and you'll most probably loose your cursor and the default desktop icon settings


Here are the Commandments to obey when using Sentinel:

- Though shallt use ONLY Normal Size fonts
- Though shallt NOT use large icons in the quick launch area
- Use ClearType font smoothing, otherwise titlebar fonts look blocky
- Disable the 'Address' Toolbar from your taskbar cos it throws it off sync when you're using multiple-line taskbars.
- Disable the 'Language Bar' from the taskbar (ugly)

Very sharp looking, Almost replaced RC5 for me, but I discovered that it does not like Mozilla Firebird 0.7 (web Browser) in the least. when opening firebird, the screen will jitter up and down until the page is reloaded. Everything works fine until you resize the firebird window, or open a tab, then the jitter starts over again. The tab line in firebird is usually small as well, but with sentinel as the theme, it becomes massive, larger than the entire window header+controls+url bar combined. Can't wait for the full version of Sentinal, by then most all the little bugs should be worked out

Clippy: You need to have a patched(cracked) uxtheme.dll in your C:\windows\system32 directory. Do a Google search, or have a look at the [link] webpage, they have a free utility.

I absolutely love it

but i wouldnt use i for 2 main reasons:

the font is cool but takes up too much space/not easly readable

and also i use two layers of taskbar instead of the usual one, and the line down the middle when you do that is really distracting (it looks good for one layer tho)

not whinging, just making suggestions to an already great skin

Alright, i got StyeXP and have learned a little more about xp styles... i got your sentinel a1 to work just fine, since the zip contained the nessecary files (good work there, btw, and b1 looks to be awesome too, if i could figure it out). anybody that could give a hint or 3 or 10 is welcome to comment..

alright, i think i figured out some of it.. one question though, what is Winrar? do i need it? because i still cant get sentinel b1 to extract... only the sentinel_b1.rar file. anybody that could give me a pointer or 3 or 10 is welcome to comment..

I would really like to try this out on my machine, but when i downloaded the .zip, all that was contained in it was a file called sentinel_b1.rar, none of the .msstyles files or anything else you talked about where in the .zip. could ya tell me if somethings wrong of if im just a complete moron when it comes to this... i'd appreciate it
