I really like the lighting of the flame and how you shaded the shadows, catching his serious expression!

You have got some EXCELLENT surprises waiting for you in the last season! It's amazing! So glad you're watching it. Better late than never!
Also this art piece... it's wonderful. Interesting that you drew him with this hair style if you're still at the beginning. It took me a looong time to get accustomed to this hair style. For the longest time Zuko was not Zuko to me without the bald head ponytail.

The changing of the hair is sort of symbolic. I listened to an interview once where he talked about how that represented the beginning of a change in Zuko's life and how it was somewhat of a big moment. He was not happy about Zuko in the Avatar movie (which is basically horrible on all accounts) starting out with a head full of hair because it basically removed the possibility of that incredibly symbolic moment when Zuko cut his ponytail off.
Avatar is such a great show. It may be for kids, and really goofy at times, but anyone who REMOTELY plays a main roll in ANY way gets wonderful character development. And by the last season, almost all the goofiness is gone, and there's just seriously amazing plot-ness. And tears. Lots of tears. Few main characters are able to pass through season 3 without crying.

Well also they wanted the new series to be different from the original. They don't want it to be just a repeat. I thought it was kinda silly that even as a little girl Korra could bend 3 different elements when it always took past Avatar's a long time. But after discussion with my siblings, I realized it's because the first series was all about Aang mastering the elements, and they don't want to do the exact same thing in this new series. I was quite surprised by seemingly all major elements being thrown in immediately, but I think it will make for quite an interesting series.

Mm, I like this! I love the fire especially, but his chin should not be so pointed! A slightly more defined jawline should do the trick c:
