Naru Narusegawa is the oldest scion of the Narusegawa Clan, a minor Devil clan which had originally hoped to wed her off to Keitaro Urashima but called it off after Keitaro was nearly assassinated by his own clansmen in order to 'justify' their actions against Shinji's parents.

Instead, Naru is engaged to Shinji Ikari and as one of the children trained in the Anatsuken martial arts, she is quite close to the Crown Prince as well as the other children - Rei Ayanami, Kaoru Nagisa, Asuka Shikinami, Mari Makinami & some of Shinji's siblings. Due to her immense physical strength, she is dubbed the Iron Tigress and like a female tiger, she's extremely dangerous.

Because she and the other Hina Assassins are aware of Keitaro's survival, they opt to train alongside him while making sure he doesn't become a slacker. Naru agrees to be the best woman in Mitsumi's wedding to Keitaro and especially makes Keitaro work hard when in comes to unarmed combat.

Known to wear a dark gray karate gi, Naru is also a student of the Urashimaryu Jiu Jitsu and the Aoyama Clan's unarmed martial arts. A fast learner, she brings her sister Mei as a student and would spar with her.

As one of the secret Hina Assassins, Naru is the unarmed assassin who would break the bones of her victims and is a powerful ki-based fighter though mastering her ki attacks only came due to being trained by Shinji.

Marked by Shinji as one of his Harem mates, Naru finds happiness with him and spars with him for long hours. She would spar with Kanako, Haruka, Motoko and Tsuruko as well, a workout which she enjoys in order to keep in physical shape.

She is the friendly nemesis of Keitaro Urashima and they would always meet in order to enjoy their epic duels which Naru gets alot of excitement from him.
