Operation British was a failed military operation executed by the Principality of Zeon during the One Week Battle of the One Year War in 2010.

Shortly after declaring war on the Earth Federation, the Zeon Armed Forces moved a depopulated colony of Hatte off of Side 2 to drop it on the Federation's Jaburo base, which had withstood all attacks, even those of nuclear weapons.

The Federation managed to divert the colony from Jaburo, but it still plunged into Earth. The colony started to break up, but the massive central cylinder hit Sydney, Australia, causing a massive explosion that obliterated the city and a large portion of the continent around it.

However, the impact of the colony was far worse than anyone could had possibly imagined: When the colony obliterated a large portion of Australia, the massive central cylinder contains a large load of bombs filled with Getter Radiation.

The exposure of this dangerous form of unstable energy soon led to the Earth slowly becoming containmented with the Getter Radiation, which was soon compounded by the asteroid-like Cluster bombs being launched from Pluto by the Greater Gamilas Empire.

By 2018, it is projected that unless a means of removing the Getter Radiation is found, Humanity would cease to exist.

Ironically enough, the truth behind the Getter Radiation and why it was employed by the Zeon would later be revealed to be part of Mercurius's insane bid to fulfill the darkest desires of Juurosake Makawashi, the infamous Lord Reinhard Heydrich of the Longinus Order, and plunge Humanity into an endless Cycle of War for eternity while awakening the dreaded Getter Emperor.

According to Mercurius, he was the one who persuaded Gihren Zabi into placing the Getter Bombs into the colony before commencing Operation British yet withheld the truth from him due to seeing him as being unworthy to join the Longinus Order.
