Description It escaped from that hellish prison, and began crawling to the portal separating the ethereal plane from the normal world.  Its name was "Sealbreaker," though that's a very rough translation from its original language; and it always found a way to escape any prison which contained it...even if it took centuries or millennia.

As it crawled to the portal, it grew in strength, no longer constantly drained of power in the prison cell it once resided.  Crawling gave way to walking, and then flying as its strength grew terribly. Was it unstoppable? No, but it would hardly be a walk in the park for those who ultimately would seal it up again, who themselves contained the power of legends in their own right...

Apo + Chaotica

Such an awesome piece of art!
Just a random question, Do you come up with all those storys alone for every post? and if yes how much time it takes you to make one story?

Cheers

Since I don't create too much fanart, the majority of the stories in my artwork is something I've come up with myself that inspired the artwork, is inspired from what I've created, or is a mix of both.

If it's inspired by music, game stories or scenes, or is direct "fanart," I might pull in some themes from the source material if I feel it's the most emotive way to convey something.  I still try to twist any source material I use and provide my own take on it, but I try to drop enough hints back to source material.  chaosfissure.deviantart.com/ga… <- if you're interested in what I try to do with "fanart" stuff.

How long does it take to write these things up?  Honestly, it varies widely.  If I can tie down themes easily, it might take twenty minutes - 5-10 for the first cut and the rest at making sure it all flows nicely.  If the artwork serves to further a story in my mind, then it might take on the order of hours to place the elements of the image into the storyline and smooth out the connections in a way that seems fitting to me.  If I really struggle at coming up with a description, I'll probably leave it blank rather than spending forever forcing myself through a description

Such a serene feeling of fear... is that what epic is?... Awesome

I try to make artwork my mind deems at least "partially epic" so if this that's what this is, I'll be perfectly happy XD

Awesome work! Alone this fractal is incredible; the backstory just makes it all the more impressive.

Thank you!  The backstory felt slightly forced as I had to drop a name for the demon randomly, but I'm glad it didn't seem to matter too much XD

Can't decide what impressed me more: your art or the description you wrote for it!

The art definitely inspired the story in this case!  I'm glad you like both parts of it.

I love your description, it gives this one an epic background. The moment I saw it, it seemed to me as some dark energy hiding in deep, dark part of the space, that accidentally floated pass some red nebula or red star that betrayed its black, oily shape.

Thank you I can't help but see a fire demon reaching towards the viewer, which really is what sparked the description!

You're welcome. Far away or at arms reach, this one is formidable, and the description only adds depth, this truly is a masterpiece.

Indeed  Honestly, I was suuuuuper happy with how the figure looked!  It seems like a lot of my recent artwork have figures in them, though I won't complain about that at all

ToothpasteThy In reply to ChaosFissure [2016-11-03 06:13:30 +0000 UTC]

Aye! There are many things to be found in pictures such as these, even if those things are imaginary. It's wonderful! And distracting~ So distracting that O didn't notice you changed your signature stamp until now! xD

ChaosFissure In reply to ToothpasteThy [2016-11-03 06:28:24 +0000 UTC]

Even if they're imaginary, it's food for the imagination to look at them.  I'll take as much of that as I can get!  Haha, the watermark was updated because I wanted something that took a slightly smaller vertical profile to put on prints that I'd upload!

Thank you; I also enjoyed how this turned out a lot!  I've used the base for this fractal for numerous pieces, and it never ceases to amaze me with what it is capable of doing

Already from the thumbnail I knew this is going to be demonic and powerful! Wouldn't really like to meet him! But I truly enjoy that black structure and texture, it's really unusual, but it sets great mood here!

ChaosFissure In reply to LukasFractalizator [2016-11-02 21:34:12 +0000 UTC]

I was revisiting some old artwork when I got bored of rendering prints.  This is related to Unstable Telepathy  and a few others of that same vein, and I forgot how much I enjoyed working with this fractal, especially because of how unusual the coloring and shapes spread out.  I have a few more things in addition to this that I've come up with, but this is my favorite of the group!

That is so insanely intense somehow. You really get swept inside of it, I love it!

ChaosFissure In reply to Slipmaskin [2016-11-02 21:29:54 +0000 UTC]

Thanks  I think the way all the black lines converge on the center and how the shapes scale outward adds some serious depth and perspective to this.  It's sorta like the creature is lunging towards the camera, and you're seeing motion blur around the sides as it advances towards you.
