None of them are monsters if you give them love and kindness. I've never ever had a bad one yet and I also volunteer at the shelter as well. I have one very similar to this one you have and she's a bit anti-social from abuse but simply doesn't like other cats much and walks away from them. Animals are a giant gift to mankind.

And she in turn wakes me every morning, between 4 and 5 AM, to feed her!

Β Rough on you...mine wait until 6 am or until the sun just starts to come up. All cats love to stay up all night and eat at first light just like the African cats do. they rest during the day-light hours. Funny how genes just dominate our behavior and yet everyone is deluded into thinking we make all our own choices. the truth is.... we CAN make our own choices but most often genes and environment do it for us and let us think we made that choice. Life is so weird. Anyhow they get me up early too so I get a lot done by noon already. I love them no matter what they do.

Well, after I feed her I go back to sleep and she leaves me be until nearly 6, when I have to get up anyway; cats are better than any alarm clock!
I'm a bit of a night-bird, too, so Dizzie and I get along pretty well; we play until 1 AM, after taking a long nap in the early evening.

It just makes me smile and feel good to know that some people love their little friends so much and have that beautiful relationship with them. I don't know what I'ed do without mine that have added so Β much kindness and love in my life. Mine do sleep in sometimes...rarely, but sometimes they just get feeling too good sleeping away I guess.Β
