Here's my top 10 favourite Sonic games list ^-^

Please note: I have not yet played Sonic Unleashed or Sonic Frontiers, but if I had, this list would look a little different

1. Sonic Generations - Without a doubt THE best Sonic game to date!! With both the classic 2D Sonic and modern 3D Sonic game play in one game, many great levels, great music and the option to change the music during any stage to 50 different tracks, tons of challenge stages and a fun pinball machine DLC, there's plenty to keep you playing Also the game is very mod friendly on PC and there have been countless mods by the fans such as the Unleashed project allowing you to play all the daytime stages from Sonic Unleashed within Sonic Generations!!

2. Sonic Mania Plus - This is one of the best Sonic games to date!! And it wasn't even made by Sega or Sonic Team themselves But the levels, music, game play, sprite art, polish, everything is just on point. It feels so good to play and the special stages are also the most fun of the whole series x3 And the music is just so damn good!!

3. Sonic The Hedgehog 3 Complete (Sonic 3 & Knuckles) - This game comes very close to being number 2 for me but Mania exceeds it just barely. That said tho, this is still the best of the old classic 2D Sonic games, with so many levels, 3 playable characters, fun bonus and special stages, Chaos Emeralds and Super Emeralds to become not only Super Sonic but also Hyper Sonic! And the soundtrack being originally composed partially by Michael Jackson, I mean come on, how can you go wrong Even tho they seemingly removed most of his music, there's still remnants of it hearable in the music :3

4. Sonic Adventure 2 - Now this was a hard choice for me but in my opinion this is the second best 3D Sonic game so far that I have played anyway The Sonic and Shadow stages are the highlight here. Just very good and fun to play fast running stages and they just feel good to play imo. Besides that there's the Mech stages from Tails and Eggman which are quite fine with me too and Knuckles and Rouge's exploration stages were the least fun, I did still have a pretty good time with them ^^ And you can't forget the amazing songs in the game like Live & Learn and City Escape ;3

5. Sonic Heroes - Now this one might be a controversial one but I actually really like this game, it comes very close to beating Adventure 2 for me even, but that's just because it was my first Sonic game and I really enjoy all the stages and the music in this game to death x.x It was the first 3D Sonic to just have pure running stages from start to end with no other game play styles and the way you switched between speed, power and flight characters was also very well implemented into the game play It has some of the most memorable stage themes in my opinion.

6. Sonic Superstars - This is a very good 2D Sonic game, not as good as Sonic 3 or Mania but I think it's better than 1, CD and 2 at least. It's got some solid level design, 5 playable characters including a brand new one, each Chaos Emerald gives you a unique ability and one of them even gives each character a different ability! The music is really good, it has some beautifully animated cut-scenes. Multiple post game story modes and a pretty fun online battle mode although I wish there was more to that but I do like that you can customize your own little robot :3

7. Sonic The Hedgehog 2 - Next up is just a very classic amazing Sonic game You might be shocked it's lower on the list than Heroes or Adventure 2 but hey, it's my list and I have my own opinions As good as this game may be, it does have its drawbacks tho, like some of the later levels can really screw you over but besides that, it's still a very classic masterpiece

8. Sonic Colours Ultimate - This was originally much higher on the list before I played some of the other games later on, it's a really good Sonic game tho that's for sure, with great fun fast running stages and great music and cut-scenes that amused me quite a bit :') That said tho, I wasn't always the biggest fan of the 2D sections in this game and I feel like there was too much of them but it's still a really good time all around

9. Sonic Adventure (DX) - Now this game has it's ups and downs for sure, it has its flaws and glitches but imo, it's a very enjoyable game, especially the Sonic and Tails levels and even Amy, Gamma and Knuckles were okay to me. Let's just not address the elephant in the room...or should I say... the cat :') I liked the hub world idea quite a bit and I really liked the level design in this game as well ^^

10. Sonic Lost World - Here's another controversial title People complain about there being a run button and that it's just a Mario Galaxy rip-off >.> I like to think otherwise tho. I think the run button feels fine and Sonic himself feels nice to control. I like the things they took from classic Sonic like the spin-dash, the capsules at the end of stages, classic enemies, freeing animals again when killing enemies and such.. And who can forget those awesome Yoshi's Story and Legend of Zelda stages as free DLC :3
