A bit late since it's allready the 6th december
On 5th of December it's Krampus day in Austria. But since last year I drew a more Krampus like figure this year it's more Perchten like.
He is some kind of Bogeyman, on 6th of December he accompanies saint Nicolas and takes away the bad children.
But often saint Nicolas helps the children and they just get a good scare to be nice for next year (at least that what happen in my childhood
)But on 5th he is let loose and does what he likes, scare children.
There are also the Perchten but somebody told me theay are a bit different and since I don't live in the higher regions like the alps we had just this guy (I honestly have no mountains near my village just a big lake) but our church is dedicated to Saint Nicolas.

Wow krass nein so wild gings bei uns nie zu bzw später
durften sie nicht mehr wild herum laufen und die Rute einsetzen.
Ein Kind is mal verletzt worden und jetzt habens sie meisten nur kleine Parade
mit Absperrung und später kann man Fotos machen.

Aber wenn dann Kinder verletzt werden ist es natürlich sehr blöd. Da sollten sie besser auf passen bei kindern, nicht so fest haun oder bei kleinen Kindern gar nicht
ich kann mich erinnern das ich mal n kurzen Rock an hatte...wie alt war ich da so 12 oder so ka. Hatte damals gerne kurze Röcke getragen xD
Und eben Marshmallow hat dann ziemlich übel zugeschlagen. Hatte dann ne menge Striemen von seiner Pferderute.
Eben das gibt Rache. Lass ich nicht auf mir sitzen haha : P XD
stimmt Absperrung ist bei uns auch, aber manchmal ziehn sie einen drüber 
das mit den Fotos finde ich super

Since Knecht Rupert is German and I think the Krampus is
Austrian...but I'm not sure since I noticed in other parts
of Austira he is called different like Klaubauf but it's kind off

not really,we have saint Nicholas and Santa but religious people believe that Jesus brings presents

It's called the Christkind it's often a little angel but I think it is used
to be baby Jesus...in some ways

Well... these day's people start to make children believe in a Santa as well..but we knew the presents were given by our parents.

yes, in the north near to belgium and in north east in alsace/lorraine, near Germany. So, in areas that were sometimes colonized by other countries. (I really want to go in strasbourg during christmas one day!!) Saint Nicholaus isn't very well know otherwise, sadly....
