They picked the right G1 villain to reboot for this scene. Tirek's G1 counterpart was creepy and menacing, he up front tries to behead Spike, violently backhands Scorpan before an epic battle with Megan and the ponies (which still pales in comparison to Twilight vs. Tirek), and is killed off in the end.
