Page one work in progress for the Transformers Original Character Comic. Work in progress, I still need to learn how to do lettering, word balloons, and dialog boxes in photoshop. Some friends here once told me how, but I never got the hang of it.I'm not happy with the last panel. I think it should be just his expression and save the ship's appearance for the next page in a much larger panel for effect. (ooo! I feel like a director now. 'Where's my %$#&ing latte!!'

I don't know--you probably could have gone either way on that last panel, without the dialog the ship is still a cliff hanger in of itself. I want to know what registered on his goggles.

Letter boxes are actually relatively easy once you get good at outlining the shape of them to your satisfaction. Generally all you have to do is outline the shape and cut it away from the original image, though it might be more thorough to create them in a new layer.
Let me know if you want any assistance in this matter. If nothing else, submit the script and which lines go in which frame and I could try it and see if it's to your liking.

pretty sweet man, if you want, go ahead and give me the words for each box and i can add it in for you. i can even enlarge the facial expression and get rid of the ship for you.

If I go that far, I think I'd redraw the whole last panel. There are already quite a few face close ups. I'd go with a overhead camera shot to show body language.

good call, cause dialogue boxes wont really fit in there haha, but yea, i think it works well without dialogue for this one as well.
