Sonic: Hey, how come Bokkun gets arms? You know he's gonna bomb us to Oblivion.
Knuckles: No-one likes Bokkun, so no-one will need to use him.
Bokkun: *sob* Waaaaaaaah~!

For several months now, I've been working on this sprite style, named S3 Ultima (S3U for short) because it mashes two of my previous styles together - one being called Ultima, the other a custom form of Sonic 3 style (neither has been posted here, sorry). I eventually hope to make a comic with this style.

S3U uses the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive palette, with generally 3-4 shades per colour, and the height ratio is two pixels = 5 centimetres. For an example of this, Sonic apparently stands at 100cm, so in S3U he's 42 pixels tall. (Because all official characters with recorded heights wear shoes, I assume the shoes are included in said records; for shoeless poses I subtract a pixel.)

This little sheet is only a preview, and should be considered a WIP even if something looks polished. The top row contains official characters (Sonic, Knuckles, Shadow, Charmy, Bokkun and Tikal); bottom row contains a few of my fan characters, those being my versions of Ashura and Nazo, [the base of] Maiq the cat, and Lazar and Shara the mice. Tikal is the one sprite here I'm likely to scrap and start over, the rest I'm at least decently happy with.

By the way, if you're wondering about the lack of arms, I intentionally withheld them from this sheet to (hopefully) deter plagiarism. I really hate to do so, but there isn't much use for armless sprites, is there?

All sprites are made in Fireworks 8, and are 100% custom.
