Kopa watched as Kiana bolted away from him, and he felt his beating heart being ripped from his chest.

Kiana's words echoed through Kopa's mind, destroying him from the inside.

"I will NEVER love you like I should.." repeating over and over again, demanding Kopa's destruction.

For the first time since Kopa's existence, he felt his heart break. For the first time, he felt useless. For the first time, he felt not good enough.

The prince of the Pridelands was not good enough to win the heart of the lioness he loved the most, the lioness he spent his entire life trying to be with. She was a SURE THING in which he was not good enough to keep. He felt pathetic!

But worse of all, he felt alone...

The memories of his beloved Kiana raced through his head, starting with their memories as cubs. Playing in the savannah, enjoying time with the other members of the kingdom. Being the happy-go-lucky cubs they were. Promising one another to always be the best of friends, even after they got old and had to marry one another. The memories of Kiana's bubbly laugh, and sweet smile as a cub.

And the beauty it developed to as she matured into the beautiful lioness she was to date. Her smile maintained it's beautiful charm, and her nose wrinkled the same as it did as a cub, it was a trait in which Kopa admired the most about her.

Unknowingly, Kopa made it a point in life to remain funny, and with a light sense of humor, just to be able to see Kiana's beautiful smile day after day. He loved spending quality time with Kiana, away from the other pride members, because then and only then was she her true self -- the way she was as a cub, before her training had forced her to become this other lioness.. Kopa was truly one lucky lion. He was the heir to the amazing kingdom that so many different animals have grown to cherish and love, he had a huge family that loved him, and he had a fiancee that was gorgeous, smart, and so loving. He had everything he could have ever dreamed of or ever wanted.

But Kopa was foolish, and so unaware of how Kiana truly felt about her entire situation -- all because he never cared to ask. He saw the mask she wore, the smile she wore to protect her loved ones. Kopa would have never expected her unhappiness. He was too caught up in his own world to realize the love of his life was crumbling.

He was too busy tramping around, trying to satisfy his own needs to realize the needs of Kiana's. He was being too greedy.. And he lost Kiana, he lost her love just when he started to crave her affection the most -- two days before the wedding!

Kopa had banished Kiana. The love of his life.He did it out of rage, and immediately regretted it. But he couldn't stand the thought of seeing Kiana so unhappy - he couldn't bare the thought of Kiana possibly being happier with someone besides him...

And especially not his own brother..

He wasn't sure which hurt him worse;

The pain of losing the only lioness he has ever loved, or the pain of the love of his life loving his own brother before himself..

Heartache. Betrayal. Confusion.
