Description Cinste Iepure woke in a warm, four post canopy bed, with lacy sheets and the canopy keeping out all the nasty sunlight from her sensitive eyes. She stretched, a mighty stretch that pulled things in her body that had been dormant some ten hours. She sat up, her long furry ears flopping, not quite perky yet. She blinked open her grey-green eyes and wiggled her nose.

“Lady Iepure?” A soft-spoken servant pulled back one of the curtains about Cinste’s bed.

“Mmhmm..?” Cinste blinked sleepily. The servant smiled and gently placed a pair of glasses on Cinste’s face.

“It’s Laisley, Miss Iepure.” the servant said.

Cinste brightened immediately, blinking a few times to get the sleep out of her eyes. “Oh! Goodmorning, Laisley.”

“Shall we get dressed, My Lady?” Laisley smiled. Cinste nodded and scooted out of bed. Her rabbit-like ears stretched with her. Cinste stopped in her tracks and turned around, pulling the displaced sheets up to the bottom of the pillows.

She happily bounced to the dresser and vanity, and gave a soft gasp at the person in the mirror looking back at her.

"Don't worry my Lady, that's you!" Laisley came to stand next to her. Cinste visibly relaxed. The young lady suffered from Prosopagnosia, or face blindness. She couldn't recognize anyone, and didn’t truly see faces-- they all melded together. Even her own. Mix that with some muscular dystrophy and neuropathy, and she was troubled.

That lovely morning was months ago. They had come from the southeast, the Great War had started. And Cinste was meant to evacuate. But she had gotten separated from Laisley on the train platform. Everyone was bustling all around her, trying to get onto the train. She wanted to get on the train too. She could hear the station shaking with the cannonballs. She needed to get on the train but she couldn’t without Laisley.

All of a sudden, the train started moving. The whistle blared. The soldiers were here. Cinste ran toward the train, trying to grab on as it left, but one of the support railings that one was meant to hold onto smacked her right in the face, and all went black.
