Description
I can't listen to snowmobiles anymore.
I hate the sound of them driving though loose powder,
their engines blaring as they past my house.
My body instantly,
like the sudden flicker of light on my phone makes me jump in anticipation.
I hope it's him.
But he won't talk to me.
Avoids my touch,
doesn't bother make contact with me at all.
It's undeniably painful.
Fuck it hurts.
The way he was so kind before.
Let me sit in his lap.
Brush my fingers though his hair,
stroke his cheek.
My fingertips gingerly touching beneath his eye when he hit it against the stairs.
That type of feeling is hopeless when you have no chance.
Isn't everyone suppose to get a second chance.
I wish there was a kill switch.
Just like the one on a snowmobile.
It's a lot harder to start up again and again.
Tugging on the string with both hands.
With all your strength.
A tap.
A tap of the kill switch.
And you're off.
