Well from what I understand the concept got scraped, so if they stuck with the collars, they would have had a thorough explanation for a lot of things. However it's not the avenue they went down for the final product, and it got chucked out. That's how it works, if it's not on the page, it's not important. Fans run with concepts, because it helps them set up their own scenarios for the stories they want to tell with said properties. Plus it's fun to explore a what if scenario. Still if an idea isn't apart of the final product, then it doesn't get explored by the creative staff. Still they might use an idea, that they didn't use before for potential sequels, or as Easter eggs throughout the film. I can just tell that the creative team had a field day trying to come up with ideas for the movie, and unfortunately you have to pick and choose which ones go in, and which ones get the ax. Still I'm sure a sequel is well within the works, and you never know what they might use in order to follow up the original story. This is Disney we are talking about, and if they can get money from a property, they will milk it dry. And right now, Disney animation studios have had very few misses with films. I personally detested Frozen, but my opinion doesn't matter to the millions that film raked in. At the end of the day money talks, and that's what Disney is looking at right now.
