Description This is my contest entry for "The Bucket List" Challenge at The Blending Stump.

This piece was inspired by National Geographic's "Mars".  As I watched this documentary I can only hope that we can achieve reaching Mars within my lifetime. Imagine the thrill of watching our species colonize another planet it would be our greatest achievement.  I also applaud Elon Musk for having the vision to make our dreams a possible reality.

That documentary was great. No colorful expensive special effects, just enough to make a lot of us feel like being there. I'm glad at least one of us did something about it. Congratulations on your work, it is beautiful. And don't take me wrong but thank you for not spoiling your image with frog-like-countless-number-legged-weird-head-antennas kind of creatures.

Yes, the documentary was great and very realistic in terms of how a real mars mission would be tackled.  From sticking the landing to finding a suitable water supply two of which have to be figured out before we even think about colonizing.  I wanted this piece to be true to what a first mission would find which is not much but the potential to do great things.  Again, thank you for your kind words on my artwork.
