Her heart becoming heavy with what she could only guess was the regretful truth about the delivery, Tracey placed the box on the kitchen table, went to a nearby junk drawer to get a mini-box cutter and set to work delicately opening up the package.

Unfolding the top, Tracey peered inside and seen an envelope sitting on top of a carefully folded garment bag, packed in bubble wrap. Swallowing hard, she picked up the envelope and opened it; inside it was a neatly folded, neatly written letter.

Dishearteningly, the communication was not from Frank himself but it was from one of his children, Mitchell, whom Tracey had met while she was taking care of his father.

Oh, boy, this is not going to be rosy, Tracey pondered, okay, Poshy, better brace yourself for the inevitable bad news.

Tracey read over the carefully written page, and her heart sank further reading every word.

In essence, Mitchell informed her that Frank had passed away, after fighting a losing battle with getting serious ill from complications with treatment. She read further that Frank fought as best as he could like the seasoned battle-hardened veteran he was, never giving up until his body could no longer stand the toll the cancer and the subsequent treatments were taking. Mitchell also wrote that Frank's cancer had moved on to other parts of his body, subsequently making recovery near-impossible.

In closing, Mitchell and Frank's two other children, as well as Frank's wife, Gloria, expressed heartfelt gratitude for everything Tracey had done during the time she was assigned to take care of Frank. They also presented Tracey with one of Frank's judo uniforms from the time when he competed during the 90s, as well as a few belts. They said they had the impression Tracey would take good care of the mementoes.

Tracey felt tears welling up but she fought to keep them from flowing, instead putting on a grateful smile for the genuinely tender letter and the family's precious gift to her.
