A memento from the recent past, where the vitality, passion and courage in competition was put on full display. Athletes in the full flower of youth came from all corners of the British Commonwealth in 2014 to Glasgow, Scotland to fulfill sporting dreams of winning medals, and Tracey was one of those hopefuls, her spirits buoyant, and her determination keen.

Back in 2014. Seven years ago.

It might have seemed like yesterday, for all Tracey could think of it, the memories of the event and her fighting amongst all the other female boxers flooding back to her like a tidal wave as the urge to take a look at the photo drew her gaze to it like a magnet.

What should have been felt after looking at her younger self holding up her bronze medal, a sense of pride in the accomplishment transformed to something darker and Tracey could not help but feel the twin stinging lances of disappointment and bitterness over her past achievement; A reflection of what her younger self tried so hard to hide in the photo.

As she grew up to be a mature young woman, Tracey tried her best to leave the disappointment and the bitterness, the could-have-beens and the should-have-beens, behind her.

Somehow, it came back to her again, not all at once but gradually over recent weeks and with those old memories came the dark dreams.
