The larks still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

This tiny flower is an international symbol of remembrance and inspiration behind the beautiful poem "In Flanders Fields"
Their paper thin petals mark the first sign of new life and renewal.

"Remembrance" is 16*20 acrylic painting on stretched canvas with texture and partial impasto technique. The poppies shine in red, orange and yellow. The background is grey with burnt umber and touch of white to create the texture.
