Description
New lead Character for Kinetic Kartel. I decided to go with a Black female lead character, because, well....there aren't any really. I asked the homie if he could think of any and the only answer he could say was "Storm"......That's just pitiful, so I gotta have a black female as the lead character now.Nanashi is the title cuz she has no name yet.

Gosh, I love how you stylize figures! So fun and interesting. Your cel-shading is exceptional, it's way more difficult than people think since you have to be really careful with your color choices. (I totally struggle with that.)

Thank you. I actually just let photoshop work for me. If I can find harmonious colors when flatting, in most cases it will be cool once I finish....it is really really hard in most cases though, especially placing them in a specific setting.

I think it would be a really good idea if you slowly put little and little bits of money towards animation software/and/or animators because your art style could be the next best, like wayy better than afro samurai

There definitely are not any strong lead black female characters found in the mainstream comic venue. Majority of the times they are skimmed off as secondary, given stereo typical personalities, or primarily side characters at best. I definitely dig the approach you took with this design, and I am interested as hell in seeing this become a full fledged graphic novel in the future man. Just flair out her persona, and you'll make me one happy brotha lol. Also, interesting composition and the color choice you decided to go with.

Good move. I know nanashi is just a placeholder title for now but whatever you do choose for the real name, could it be something.... not-Japanese or Japanese themed? maybe something cute?

The guy with the hat was the Lead, but now he's just one of the main characters, she'll be the lead.

There actually is a 99% black anime called Michiko to Hatchin, and the main is Brazilian so at least she is black in a sense.
