Hrm. >.<
....Dang. ...Ok, yeah, it is a good...really good drawing. I may be an avid phanatic for E/C, but I guess I can admit to good art, even if it IS R/C.
I certainly hope you'll be drawing some for OUR side of the POTO ship however. I would just love to see what you would do.

Oh, I can't stomach a lot of angst. But, about your comic, it depends on the theme. What's the conflict? Who's she going to choose? And, most importantly, what version is it? 2004 movie or the stage, or Leroux or Kay? Tell me about it, I'd love to hear and help in any way I could if you'd like.

Well, it’s not that formulated yet as to complete plot wise, but I think I have the general idea down. I like to think about it as having some Noir aspects. Please excuse any messy and non-coherent phrases and/or sentences.
Stage version with some aspects Leroux (Leroux Raoul and Christine in terms of personality, and I just adore the creepy insanity of Erik), possibly a little Kay (I like Hugh Panaro's Phantom, and he's a big fan of Kay) and plenty of my own head cannons.
The story goes on beyond the musical, begins approximately a month and a half before Don Juan’s premiere (I don’t think I’ll go through the whole DJ/Final Lair scenario, though. My illustrations will do that no justice) and revolves around two character: Christine and and Beatrice “Bea” Adler, an OC of mine, who is an assistant to M. Pertuit, head of the artistic department.
Though naive, I think Christine is a bit of a modern woman. She definitely can provide for herself (she lives on her own and owns furs), takes no lovers from choice (she did knew about sexuality. The background Leroux describes for her - workers class, traveling, etc.), and has a mind of her own. She’s not a victim of circumstances, but clearly not all was up there. I want to deal with her mental state in the time frame before DJ and after the Final Lair. Raoul struggles to keep her. He’s not that romantic hero. He also has his possessiveness and lust. Have you ever noticed how she never says “I love you” to anyone? I want to research that point.
As for our beloved Erik… Think about it - Christine’s kiss turned the ghost into a man. A shattered, lonely and utterly miserable, but a man. Even though he was “redeemed” in a way, he’s not mended. To me, Erik will always be the architect. I might have him being addressed to an architects office. Something with the Sorbonne as well… I’ll see. Haven’t decided how he’s going to end up there. Still working on that. But, to his most frustration, he frequently returns to the Garnier. He’s bored to tears. He takes Adler as his case study.
Bea is a British-born woman, who’s been living in Paris for some months now with Hugo Noble, a French student, and he can be called her current “beau”. She struggles for recognition for her art, and sees her position as a starting point.
About my pairings… E/C, R/C (which will stay that way) and a brief, much much much later in the comic, E/OC.
Well, it’s not a pretty summary and plot-wise I haven’t said much. The comic book itself won’t have anything pretty about it. Which is a bit ironic, because I’ve decided to name it “Belle Epoque”.
If you have any ideas - things to add/change, something a little more specific - please tell!

Whoa. "Creepy insanity" 0.o Not for me. But sounds like a full-mask thing definitely.
Wow! That's right, she didn't ever say "I love you" yet both Erik and the Fop -er, Raoul, said (sung) it to her! Hm... Yes, research definitely.
I LOVED your paragraph on Erik.
But it doesn't sound like a very alls-well-that-ends-well comic. T.T I know ya like the whole triangle thing, but too much angst is nevah enjoyable, unless it's the good time, E/C relational angst that is so delicious in its fixing, 'cause you know it will be fixed. Unless, you know, you plan fully on having it full E/C when the triangle resolves. But you said E/C THEN R/C, (that doesn't bode well) and I wish at least he would end up with this Adler woman (she sure sounds like an interesting gal) Hmmmmm... Something tells me your not a big fluff-fan, huh?
But, so who does Erik end up with definitely? And will the comic contain ANY fluff? And, if the plot line is following the movie/play, then maybe it should be half-mask.
Anyways, thanks for the good description.
Response on my respons?

I love Creepy!Erik! Like Hugh Panaro. But I also love Earl Carpenter's approach - creepy Phantom but at the same time very vulnerable and heartbreaking (seriously, watch this final lair - [link] and if you can get a whole video of him - do it. He's amazing)
I'll explain my vision of E/C: if Erik and Christine did end up together, I don't think they'd been happy. In fact, I think they'd been quite miserable. Erik would go around, ignoring Christine, like a dog who finally won his precious bone, and now lost interest. And she’d go mad herself. I think he was obsessed with her up until after she kissed him (on the forehead or the mouth, still the same). So romantically, I don't see them going very far. I like my E/C with gentle touches of platonic romance and lots of comforting and calming. Because they need each other desperately and yes, they would go to the end of the world and back for each other. But I can't see them as lovers.
So as far as E/C and R/C in the comic - the main ship containing Christine is R/C, but as I said - platonic E/C all the way. Like Snape said in HP, "Always."
Yes, the comic WILL contain fluff, don't worry. While I'm not a very fluffy person, I do like it when it's needed and too overpowering! The comics itself isn't very romance-centred, but yes, expect some E/C fluff. Since Erik takes Bea as his case study, I don't see how things would go very well for them as well, but they'll be okay! Even if not as a couple, they'll be something... similar... to friends. It's hard to be friends with someone like Erik.
Hmm... a while ago, HollyTheTerrible suggested that perhaps Erik finds that wearing the half mask is harder to keep on his face , so he crafted a full face mask. And I have to say that I like that idea.

Aigh! ToT DANG! I watched it. T3T YOUR DESCRIPTION OF THAT VIDEO WAS SO ACCURATE! T.T And that manikin was so creepy. I don't think I'll ever watch that video without sobbing. I almost rooted for Raoul (*scream in self-loathing*) but no, I still root for Erik. Even if he IS a little creepy.
Hmmm... Well, personally, I always like Erik to "end up with" SOMEONE romantically, but, hey if he at least has someone who just cares... And, it leaves room for us phangirls when we storm through the fourth wall, right? Let's see how ERIK like's being kidnapped by desperate, obsessed peoples!
But seeing him in any pain is, well, painful for me I guess, so I hope whatever happens he finds happiness. And, if you think it should be a full-mask, go for it! It will show that you're not just following the Gerard Butler story, but that it promises to be a tale uniquely of your own telling. I'll try to look in on it as often as I can, but geeminee, I sure don't see how I'll ever be able to get on DA 'cept on weekends. I STILL have homework right this very minute I'm procrastinating on! T.T

I would agree with you there about Raoul and Christine. My only problem, their arms in this pic are too thin in comparison to the rest of their body

I really don't understand Raoul bashers. What the guy did ever do to you? Where on earth is there any evidence for him being an abusive, drunken and disgusting? All these bashers really influenced LND!Raoul for sure.

i agree! he's like the sweet guy who will do anything for you (erik, on the other hand, is like "you do what i tell you or i kill people").

Ha ha, I wouldn't claim I'm a Raoul basher. I'm a phan of E/C, but everyone out there knows it was better for her to end up with Raoul. I just thought that Raoul was somewhat immature and childish in the novel (not nearly as much as Erik, but still...). I still can't believe they made him an abusive alcoholic though.
I like this picture though. There's a tenderness between them that is refreshing to see. Good job!

i agree that raoul was a bit crazy in the novel... "'My dear fellow,' said Count Philippe, 'you have fired at a cat.' 'The misfortune is,' said Raoul with a grin, 'that it's quite possible. With Erik, you never know. Is it Erik? Is it the cat? Is it the ghost? No, with Erik, you can't tell!' ... 'Who is Erik?' asked the count, pressing his brother's hand. 'He is my rival. [Raoul replied] And, if he's not dead, it's a pity.'" from Leroux's book; pages 138 and 139. ahh i love that scene xD
