but,, is he really an indoor person? I noticed that his element is of light, so I made sure that light makes a dramatic appearance on this picture.

yeah,, I do consider those factors too for their  poses and facial expressions. its like telling the OC's whole life story in a single picture. I usually aim for the "cover art look" for your drawings The lighting and the other elements in the drawing must work together for a perfect composition and story-telling of your OC.

actually,, I judge your OCs based on the references you give me,, plus their bio. so,, i was like,, "oh,, he looks fierce and powerful,, must put dramatic lighting and awesome pose for him",, or,,"he looks weak,, but he certainly is a powerful mage" things like that

Aww,, Im so glad you appreciate it because I totally spend endless hours trying to perfect the "cover art" look,, and I keep in mind that sooner or later,, you'll want it in print,, so I'd better make it presentable and kick-ass at the same time///crais

bah,, I know why they do. >w< 

because,, there's simply too many art thieves in here. thats why I refrain from making too much fan art. Fan arts always bear the brunt of art thievery.

but since our OCs are "ours",, no one can just waltz in and steal our drawings. our OCs have that charm that thieves will never, ever be able to emulate. I hope they learn to draw on their own and stop stealing///bricked

Luckily art theft has never happened to me - or not that I know of. lol
But I think it's a horrible thing to do. 3: < It always makes me feel sorry when I hear that it's happened to others. uu
