Have you tried putting a couple sheets of blank paper behind the image when you scan it? It might help clear up the texture/brightness issue somewhat.
As for anyone who's curious about this scene - Timothy (the racecar) was invited by Alek (the truck) to go mudding with him. Timothy's small wheels and rear-wheel drive are no match for the sloppy mud though and predictably, he's gotten stuck. Alek was going to give his stuck little friend a push - but now he's enjoying the splatters of mud from Timothy's wheels as the little racecar tries again to drive.

had a small hit where i live. people keep parking on corners so you can see and i had to edge out well as ive done this a police van came around. i cliped it
