I do love that conversation. Poor Sanniang didn't get the response she'd hoped for! But it was inspiration for this piece! Her being all cat like, playing with his ribbon.

I like them both equally, Suo in his cute dopey kick ass way and Bao for being a refreshing face of Shu - the amount of abuse they get in general is ridiculous.

True... people think they're annoying, Suo gay for the flower on his hair, Bao for her voice, Zhong Hui is evil, and Liu Shan a waste of character space.
I think nearly every newcomer but some unmentionables are worth the debut. How about Xiahou Ba placed in the wrong kingdom, as some people want to think?

Annoying maybe, but I'm getting the whole 'fictional' argument that seems to play a part. Means nothing to me however. They're not just using the novel anymore as the basis for the game, so any character with any connection whether fact, fiction or folklore is alright with me. It doesn't even matter who they stick in anymore whether relevant or not, its how they use them in the end.
Xiahou Ba is a bit mismatched with Jin. Wei would have been more suited for his loyalties, or Shu as some people believe.

Hmm... how come I get the impression that many people love Xingcai despite her status as "a fictional or an original character based on Empress Zhang"?
Hey, I sorta have the same reaction when I first saw him early on, leaving the Jin kingdom. Why he did it is debatable. Some think it's not his own choice but does it regardless. Anyway, it was crazy that due to siding with Shu in most of Jin Kingdom's story, he's the only character without a playable scenario, unless you count Dynasty Warriors 7 Xtreme Legends where he has his Legend Mode, still serving Shu. How about in Warriors Orochi 3 where his armor was recolored a darker blue, that he may be in Wei around the time he fought alongside his father?

Xingcai is based on a character that was mentioned in Romance of the Three Kingdoms, and to some people, they'd rather the character be based on someone real then just a character created completely from folklore.
Was Xiahou Ba's armour coloured darker? It didn't seem like it to me, then again, he did have a cutscene in a stage that was darker than most. It was unfortunate that his placing and involvement in Jin's story meant he ended up shafted for a stage of his own, just about made up for in XL.
