Okay, I think this may be the earliest fan art for a movie (That hasn't even come out yet!) that I've ever done! Like holy shit, it's release date is Halloween!!??? But I'm a huge sucker for sugar skulls and any thing related to Day of the Dead so dammit they got me!Ughhhh I just can't wait for this movie though! El Tigre was fucking awesome and the fact that the same artists are doing this film is just a tease!~
And I've just noticed this has been the first time in a loooong time that I've done actual fan art for something....hm I like it.

I got myself into the movie because since I'm a mexican I adore El Dia de los Muertos
I need to do fanart, even tho it hasn't come to the theaters
( FUN FACT: The original image of this one is called " La Catrina " It was a representation of the people from the high class society in the time of the Mexican Revolution. It was created by a big number of persons but the original artist is called Bertha Sandoval Romero. So in the USA Call her La Muerte because she is a dead person, but the real death in the original culture of the Maya and Aztecas in the past was Xibalba, the protector of the underworld, also seen in the Movie on " The Book of Life ". )

Oh my god I knew of La Catrina from a number of different paintings before and figured La Muerte was linked to her but I never knew about it being a representation of the Mexican Revolutions high class! That is really intriguing! This really shows how disconnected I am from my Mexican side, it's such a treat to find new things about the culture! Thank you so much for the tidbit!!! <33 (*＾ワ＾*)

Well hm can't say much about the US except for the food, but I can say I know a lot more about our family's Jewish history!
Like how during the war with Japan everyone in our family was so afraid of the concentration camps the Japanese families were being put into, that German had to be spoken strictly inside of the house hold.And last names were changed coming into the country to avoid people from tracking families outside of the country.
